Who is Liguria Digitale
Liguria Digitale is the in-house company of the Liguria Region responsible for the digital transformation of the territory. It is not a generic software house: it is the technological arm of the regional administration, with a specific mandate over infrastructure, digital services, healthcare, and tourism.
At Erzelli, it manages high-performance computing infrastructure, including the systems for managing healthcare reservations for the Liguria Region. It is one of the very few public entities in Italy to have this type of computational capacity directly in-house.
The tender and what changes
The national tender won by Liguria Digitale concerns the digitalization of healthcare and tourism systems across six Italian regions. The expertise and infrastructure built in Liguria are now being applied on a much larger scale.
For citizens of the regions involved, this means faster reservation systems, more accessible digital medical records, and a reduction in waiting times caused by bureaucratic inefficiencies. These are not abstract technical improvements; they concern the concrete management of people’s health.
The data that changes the perspective
Liguria Digitale has been working at Erzelli for years. The systems built here—the computing infrastructure, healthcare data management, and digital platforms—convinced the tender evaluators that this expertise was reliable on a national scale.
When discussing the ecosystem as a core value of Erzelli, Liguria Digitale is one of the most concrete examples. It is not a startup needing the park to grow. It is a mature organization that chose this location for specific operational reasons and produces a measurable impact on millions of people from here.
The supercomputing hub
In March 2025, the “Genoa Capital of Supercomputing” protocol was signed at Erzelli, with IIT, Leonardo, CNR, Gaslini, San Martino, and Liguria Digitale among the signatories. The protocol positions Genoa, and the park, as a national hub for high-performance computing.
Liguria Digitale is part of that story both as a technical protagonist and as a client of those infrastructures. The tender won in 2025 proves that the bet has a concrete payoff.
