The People
Today, approximately 2,000 people work at Erzelli, including researchers, engineers, managers, and support staff. They are divided among the companies located in the office buildings, the laboratories of the IIT-Center for Human Technologies, and the park’s services.
This number does not include the construction site personnel currently working, who bring additional activity to the site every day.
The Companies
There are more than 20 companies and institutes established here. All operate in the technology sector or in applied research and development. There are no general service companies, and there are no representative offices from sectors unrelated to technology. GHT has maintained this consistency from the beginning: the park does not rent space to just anyone.
The main entities present today include: Ericsson, IIT-Center for Human Technologies, Generative Bionics, Liguria Digitale, Esaote, Siemens, Siemens Energy, Dedagroup, Alten, Gruppo FOS, Schindler, Beumer Group, CBRE, DIH, Adiform Group.
The Physical Structure
The currently operational office buildings cover 40,000 square meters of office space, light laboratories, and common areas, plus 1,500 square meters of commercial space. The already completed green park covers 30,000 square meters. The basic infrastructure is operational: fiber optics, trigeneration, electric charging, and parking. The buildings have BREEAM certification and an energy class B rating.
Where we are heading
The current numbers are just the foundation. The master plan’s long-term goals envision 200 settled companies, 15,000 people at work, and 5,000 students and researchers brought by the New Polytechnic School. Reaching that goal requires the current construction sites and those to come. It also requires that companies looking for a place to work in Genoa know that this place exists.
